It’s summer in Kramatorsk and the heat is getting to us all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that doesn’t stop us from encouraging creativity and community. Last weekend, our cultural hub Terykon was transformed into a lively place of creativity. Under the motto \u201cNew Meanings\u201d, children and young people came together to create new notebooks from old magazines and books. They cut, glued and sewed, and old pages were given new lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event was more than just a handicraft workshop – it was a sign of hope and solidarity in the midst of difficult times. The military situation in the area around us is tense, with frequent attacks and battles within a radius of 25 kilometers. But despite the uncertain situation, Terykon shone as a place of refuge and positive energy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Base UA offers regular art and learning workshops to provide a creative and safe environment for the children and young people in Kramatorsk. These workshops are essential for their development and help them to overcome their fears and learn new skills. The Terykon cultural hub, open almost daily since the end of 2023, offers them a space where they can feel safe both physically and mentally.

Cultural Space to Enable Kids to Discover Themselves<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Terykon is more than just a place to learn and do handicrafts. It is a cultural space that enables children and young people to meet, learn and discover themselves. Courses in English, graphic design, programming and photography are regularly held here. Base UA’s work aims to build long-term and trusting relationships with the children and to help them through individual and systematic approaches. In a region characterized by conflict and insecurity, Terykon provides an anchor of stability and hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stories and creative works produced in these workshops are testimony to the resilience and inventiveness of the young generation in Kramatorsk. They show that beauty and creativity can flourish even in the most difficult of times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
